Ytterbium-Doped Polarization-Maintaining Fiber

Ytterbium-doped polarization-maintaining fiber is a specialty fiber that combines the dual characteristics of "ytterbium-doped fiber" and "polarization-maintaining fiber". It achieves laser amplification functionality by doping ytterbium (Yb³⁺) ions into a silica glass matrix and maintains the stability of the polarization state through a special structure (such as a panda-type structure).

Characteristics:

Ytterbium-doped silica fiber, suitable for fiber lasers and amplifiers operating in the ~10 00 nm - 1100 nm wavelength band.

Single-mode and large mode area (LMA) fiber options available.

Cladding-pumped design for output powers ranging from 1 mW to >20 W (in pulsed operation).

Core-pumped single-clad design with high core pump absorption.

Matching SM or LMA passive fibers are available for sale.

Geometric shape conforms to industry standards for active fibers, with cladding diameters of Ø125 or Ø250 µm.

Panda-type stress rods are used for polarization-maintaining operation.

Applications:

Ultrafast laser processing: Used in ultr ashort pulse fiber amplifiers and lasers to precisely control pulse energy and polarization state, catering to micron-scale material processing needs.

High-precision sensing and detection: In laser radar, fiber optic gyroscopes, and fiber optic hydrophones, the polarization-maintaining property ensures high signal-to-noise ratio and measurement accuracy, suitable for applications in aerospace, military, and other fields.

Industrial and medical laser systems: Supports continuous/pulsed high-power laser output for applications such as metal welding, medical surgical instruments (e.g., ophthalmic laser treatment), etc.
